Gabriella Hirsch is delighted to be the Music Director of Improvised Jane Austen, and a year-round face and player at the iO Theater. A graduate of the University of Miami, she is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who grew up with a focus in classical piano. She stays busy in the musical comedy world as a writer, performer, and improviser. She is the songwriter, composer, and co-producer of Lucky: A Musical, which she performed in at at Second City in 2018 and which will be featured in the Chicago Musical Theater Festival in February 2019. She is a member of the Barrel of Monkeys Theater Company, a Teaching Artist at the Old Town School of Folk Music, and the Program Coordinator of Girls Rock! Chicago. You can also find her on the keys in bands around the city, including the acclaimed Latin funk band, ÉSSO Afrojam Funkbeat. Her musical sketch “Staying In Tonight” was featured in the 7th Annual Mary Scruggs Works for Women Festival at Second City. In her free time, she enjoys belting out garbage pop songs both by herself and in public.
